Have my Liverpool blown it!

Well it's down to Man City to make mistakes, lose or draw would be brilliant!  Please :))

But hey Liverpool had it in the bag at 3-0 then ...aghhhh Palace score 3!!  Defence leaves a lot to be desired, however scored loads of goals!!

Well over to Word Press now after the lovely Jacqui Malpass has kindly set up a domain for me

Four poignant stories in one Daily Mail newspaper

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2591736/Number-women-baby-turning-50-DOUBLES-just-five-years.html

Reading the 31st March 2014 edition of the Daily Mail left me feeling melancholy and deep in thoughts for all sorts of reasons?

The front page headline leapt out at me about more and more women over 50 having babies... Thinking "phew they're lucky to get pregnant at that age"' then reading in saw they were IVF cases where women sought help abroad!  Even one women giving birth to twins at 61.  Hmmm  a morally tough subject... As most of these women appeared to be without the "father", choosing sperm donor options.   I often think what will that child think and react like when older, but hey each to their own. Who am I to judge?  I did know my dad until he left and remarried when I was 12, never seen him again unfortunately ... His choice.

Then reading the next headline that the beautiful kate O'Mara died on Mothers' Day.  Although she blessed with children her story ended with tradgey.

Then there is the adoption story above, how we are dealt such diverse circumstances...

We each suffer many different types of bereavement ... The things we never quite had, have and lose!

Your thoughts?  Xx

Long time no blog!

Am working on my mission statement and constitution .... Gosh it's hard to put down words you have in your head, but won't quite spill onto paper!  Blockage ... May be it's lack of confidence in self belief of my own words?  What will people say or think?

I need my guardian angel...help me please xxxx

I am now in the throws of opening the charity account, wow how complicated is this ... You can't open a  registered charity account until you have a turnover of  £5k.. Oh jeepers!

So phoned my friends at DotComUnity Credit Union in Bournemouth http://www.dotcu.org.uk who sent me an unincorporated organisation account application form...  By the way I like to support community and charities like credit unions, where the computer doesn't say NO and people are treated like individual human beings!  Please support credit unions and not greedy banks!  I should know I worked many years for one, greedy!  This will at least get me started.

On my research today I came across this.. Interesting! http://news.uk.msn.com/video-clips?videoid=7bed4040-85e3-4c1e-97c0-dd18b5c10d20

Ok time to fight isolation and create a community for involuntary childless people. Xxxx

Supporting each other in the world of IVF

Just received #thepursuitofmotherhood book by @JessicaHepburn .. Really looking forward to reading this book!  Enjoyed a great chat with Jessica last weekend.

Also spoke with Nicola this week who is campaigning IVF Post Codes @IVFyes ... I really hope she achieves her goal.  This post code lottery is very cruel for those who have to pay thousands of pounds for IVF treatment, it's heartbreaking enough especially more so when it fails!  Been there! :(

Loving my research and two more lovely inspiring women I have spoken with and hope to meet up with in the big smoke.

Have a good weekend and I am looking forward to a weekend in Cardiff, staying with my wonderful nephew (I am a lucky Aunty) who has just passed his nursing degree.

PS - if not a mother enjoy and reap the rewards of being an Aunty. Xxx

The magic of networking!

I met a lovely lady Virginia Stourton who with her business partner David have formed a business coaching network in Cirencester who meet monthly.

Really worth a visit if this is your area?  Thank you Narjas for the introduction... Narjas by the way is a great graphic designer .. +Narjas Carrington-Windo

Anyway I asked virginia who has been a very successful business woman as an Interior Designer and shocked us by announcing she was 12 years off being 90 is now sharing her wealth of experience with others.  I wanted to know what she thought of my charity name "The Egg and the Sperm" and explained what support I was offering.

I told my story of unfortunately not having children, had 3 lots of IVF and a miscarriage and realise now I won't have children.  She was so lovely and positive in her response and even phoned me yesterday after thinking and worrying about me over the weekend that I must be positive and accept my fate.

She encouraged me to go ahead and research into setting up my charity to support ANYBODY trying to conceive, IVF, afterwards, and so on.. Anybody meaning a couple, an individual, family members etc.

I was so touched by this, as I do love to give, but it's so nice when somebody gives back, and she has said I can contact her any time.

THANKS VIRGINIA X

This article looks interesting

Abstract

234 patients with menorrhagia were treated hysteroscopically by transcervical resection of the endometrium (TCRE) instead of hysterectomy. 250 procedures were performed under general anaesthesia (63%) or under sedation plus local anaesthesia (38%). The endometrium was excised either totally (91%) or partially (9%) in all but one case, and 56 (22%) of the patients underwent simultaneous resection of submucous fibroids. Surgical time (range 10-100 min) varied with the gynaecologist's experience. 479 ml was the average volume of uterine irrigant absorbed by the patient. Blood loss was usually slight. Operative complications were uncommon, but 4 (2%) women sustained a uterine perforation (without serious sequelae), 7 (3%) absorbed more than 2 litres of fluid, and 1 required tamponade to control postoperative bleeding. Hospital stay was short and full recovery usual by 1-2 weeks. Menstrual symtoms improved in over 90% of the patients throughout the follow-up of up to 2 1/2 years; 27-42% of the women became amenorrhoeic at some time after total TCRE. Results were best in women >35 years of age, but was not influenced by the presence of fibroids or pretreatment dysmenorrhoea. 10 (4%) women later underwent hysterectomy. Hysteroscopy 3 and 12 months after surgery revealed a small, fibrotic uterine cavity in the majority.

Avoiding pregnant friends & family members

When your friends & family members are all becoming pregnant around you ... Feels like hell, but remember it's not their fault, but it makes you feel like avoiding them.. Try not to as the only person who gets hurt - is you! I wish I had tried more! Trying to make up for it more now!

Yucky period pains!

Having suffered miserable period pains for around 37 years .... Ouch .... I was very young starting :) I can't believe there hasn't been a pain killer that works!!  Also what goes with this comes mental health problems.... Yes mood swings and worse .... Anxiety, panic attacks, been there!!  The depths of  unwanted feelings that comes with it and then ... All this pain and hell when you try to get pregnant .. You can't and don't !!!!!  What's that all about!!!

Life is very cruel, but in latter years now, I really want to investigate/research these issues as when ever I have been investigated ... Nothing, don't know why!!  Oh but the best thing is being told by a female doctor "well you have two choices, a hysterectomy or these tablets" ... Well on shock of the advice I chose the tablets, but when I actually read the back of the box of which were usually prescribed to people who suffered from rheumatism which had awful side affects!!!  They went straight in the bin, I was evil.. Oops mood swings!!

Obviously if I had been fortunate to have just one child I could have chosen the pill or coil to avoid such painful periods!!  Anyway got this one off my chest, and yes it's time of the month for me!! Grrrrrr.....

Anyone else want to share anything?????

Enjoy your weekend!

Chosen Charity donations while you shop at Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/?&tag=infnetuk-21&linkCode=wsw Infertility Network UK have given me this great idea for my charity!! :)  Donations while you shop! :)

Infertility Network Charity

http://www.infertilitynetworkuk.com/ I have spoken with some lovely people from this charity whilst completing my research to start my own charity!  Worth taking a look!! :)

Budding Social Entrepreneurs

Take a look at http://unltd.org.uk/ see my previous blog... I am applying for a grant to assist research into setting up my own charity for people who have been unfortunate not to have children without choice of their own!

Unltd's current offer deadlines 28th February.

What shall I write for my first post? Hmmmm

Is it a lottery to get pregnant and successfully produce children?

Why do some women do it so easily and some not?  There appears to be no rhyme of reason in my research, but what do you think?....

I have recently applied to Unltd for funding to complete research into setting up a charity to support people who are childless through no choice of their own.
